Recently, the development of nanocatalysts based on naturally occurring polysaccharides has received a lot of attention. Chitosan (CS), as a biodegradable and biocompatible polysaccharide, is considered to be an excellent template for the design of a hybrid biopolymer-based metal oxide nanocomposite. In this case, lanthanum oxide nanoparticles doped with chitosan at different weight percentages (5, 10, 15, and 20 wt% CS/La2O3) were prepared via a simple solution casting method. The prepared CS/La2O3 nanocomposite solutions were cast in a Petri dish in order to produce the developed catalyst, which was shaped as a thin film. The structural features of the hybrid nanocomposite film were studied by FTIR, SEM, and XRD analytical tools. FTIR spectra confirmed the presence of the major characteristic peaks of chitosan, which were modified by interaction with La2O3 nanoparticles. Additionally, SEM graphs showed dramatic morphological changes on the surface of chitosan, which is attributed to surface adsorption with La2O3 molecules. The prepared CS/La2O3 nanocomposite film (15% by weight) was investigated as an effective, recyclable, and heterogeneous base catalyst in the synthesis of pyridines and pyrazoles. Two new cycloartanes, combretanones G and H (1 and 2), were isolated from the leaves of Combretum quadrangulare. Their structures were elucidated by applying a set of spectroscopic methods, while their relative configurations were determined using DFT-NMR chemical shift calculations and subsequent assignment of DP4 probabilities. Compounds 1 and 2 are C-23/C-24 stereoisomers of the previously-reported euphonerin E. Both exhibited moderate cytotoxicity against three human cancer cell lines. The dipharmacophore compound 3‐cyclopropyl‐5‐(3‐methyl‐[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3‐a]pyridin‐7‐yl)‐1,2,4‐oxadiazole, C12H11N5O, was studied on the assumption of its potential biological activity. Two polymorphic forms differ in both their molecular and crystal structures. The monoclinic polymorphic form was crystallized from more volatile solvents and contains a conformer with a higher relative energy. The basic molecule forms an abundance of interactions with relatively close energies. The orthorhombic polymorph was crystallized very slowly from isoamyl alcohol and contains a conformer with a much lower energy. The basic molecule forms two strong interactions and a large number of weak interactions. Stacking interactions of the `head‐to‐head' type in the monoclinic structure and of the `head‐to‐tail' type in the orthorhombic structure proved to be the strongest and form stacked columns in the two polymorphs. The main structural motif of the monoclinic structure is a double column where two stacked columns interact through weak C—H…N hydrogen bonds and dispersive interactions. In the orthorhombic structure, a single stacked column is the main structural motif. Periodic calculations confirmed that the orthorhombic structure obtained by slow evaporation has a lower lattice energy (0.97 kcal mol?1) compared to the monoclinic structure. 相似文献

Being a close analogue of amflutizole, methyl 4‐amino‐3‐phenylisothiazole‐5‐carboxylate (C11H10N2O2S) was assumed to be capable of forming polymorphic structures. Noncentrosymmetric and centrosymmetric polymorphs have been obtained by crystallization from a series of more volatile solvents and from denser tetrachloromethane, respectively. Identical conformations of the molecule are found in both structures. The two polymorphs differ mainly in the intermolecular interactions formed by the amino group and in the type of stacking interactions between the π‐systems. The most effective method for revealing packing motifs in structures with intermolecular interactions of different types (hydrogen bonding, stacking, dispersion, etc.) is to study the pairwise interaction energies using quantum chemical calculations. Molecules form a column as the primary basic structural motif due to stacking interactions in both polymorphic structures under study. The character of a column (straight or zigzag) is determined by the orientations of the stacked molecules (in a `head‐to‐head' or `head‐to‐tail' manner). Columns bound by intermolecular N—H…O and N—H…N hydrogen bonds form a double column as the main structural motif in the noncentrosymmetric structure. Double columns in the noncentrosymmetric structure and columns in the centrosymmetric structure interact strongly within the ab crystallographic plane, forming a layer as a secondary basic structural motif. The noncentrosymmetric structure has a lower density and a lower (by 0.59 kJ mol?1) lattice energy, calculated using periodic calculations, compared to the centrosymmetric structure. 相似文献

In recent years, the food, pharmacy, and cosmetic industries have focused on the search of natural compounds with antimicrobial and antioxidant properties; commonly, these compounds are obtained from Kingdom plantae. The aim of the present work is comparing antibacterial and antioxidant capacity of Annona cherimola Mill leaves, using different extraction methods. The ultrasound assisted extraction technique (UAE) was compared with conventional techniques: Soxhlet and maceration. Water and ethanol were used as solvents for leaves extractions performed with these three methods. The main acetogenins reported in Annona cherimola Mill and Annona muricata L. species were simulated using the functional hybrid B3LYP and to confirm its presence, analysis of the compound composition was performed using FT-IR, UV–Vis and HPLC. Total phenolics (TP) and flavonoids (TF) were determined by spectroscopy techniques and novel Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV) electrochemical technique. Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC) of the extracts was measured, using the DPPH, FRAP and CUPRAC techniques. The highest antioxidant content was found in the Soxhlet water extracts; even so, the UAE technique presented an attractive alternative due to considerable reduction in extraction time, which was greater than 99%, and possible selectivity in compounds extraction. Finally, antibacterial activity of the extracts was evaluated, obtaining the best results against gram-positive bacteria using UAE water extract. In this way, the UAE technique presents an excellent extraction option due to the considerable reduction in time and energy, as well as the increase in antibacterial activity. 相似文献

Biodegradable primary batteries, also known as transient batteries, are essential to realize autonomous biodegradable electronic devices with high performance and advanced functionality. In this work, magnesium, copper, iron, and zinc – metals that exist as trace elements in the human body – were tested as materials for biomedical transient electronic devices. Different full cell combinations of Mg and X (where X = Cu, Fe, and Zn and the anodized form of the metals) with phosphate buffered saline (PBS) as electrolyte were studied. To form the cathodes, metal foils were anodized galvanostatically at a current density of 2.0 mA cm−2 for 30 mins. Electrochemical measurements were then conducted for each electrode combination to evaluate full cell battery performance. Results showed that the Mg−Cuanodized chemistry has the highest power density at 0.99 mW/cm2. Nominal operating voltages of 1.26 V for the first 0.50 h and 0.63 V for the next 3.7 h were observed for Mg−Cuanodized which was discharged at a current density of 0.70 mA cm−2. Among the materials tested, Mg−Cuanodized exhibited the best discharge performance with an average specific capacity of 2.94 mAh cm−2, which is comparable to previous reports on transient batteries. 相似文献

The combination of cytotoxic amino-BODIPY dye and 2-phenyl-3-hydroxy-4(1H)-quinolinone (3-HQ) derivatives into one molecule gave rise to selective activity against lymphoblastic or myeloid leukemia and the simultaneous disappearance of the cytotoxicity against normal cells. Both species′ conjugation can be realized via a disulfide linker cleavable in the presence of glutathione characteristic for cancer cells. The cleavage liberating the free amino-BODIPY dye and 3-HQ derivative can be monitored by ratiometric fluorescence or by the OFF-ON effect of the amino-BODIPY dye. A similar cytotoxic activity is observed when the amino-BODIPY dye and 3-HQ derivative are connected through a non-cleavable maleimide linker. The work reports the synthesis of several conjugates, the study of their cleavage inside cells, and cytotoxic screening. 相似文献

The first representative of a new class of charge transfer complexes for organic semiconductors was synthesized. The reaction of p-nitroaniline (PNA) with [1,10]-phenanthroline-5,6-dione (PD) results in the formation of a stable molecular charge transfer (CT) complex PNA3-PD2 in a ratio of 3:2. The structure of the molecular CT complex PNA3-PD2 was established by X-ray diffraction studies. Using the density functional theory method, it is shown that several types of intermolecular interactions are realized in the complex: between the PNA amino group and the nitro group of another PNA molecule, carbonyl groups, and PD nitrogen atoms. Complex PNA3-PD2 is stable only in solid form. The diffuse reflectance UV–vis spectrum of PNA3-PD2 crystal powder is characterized by the intense weakly structured long-wavelength absorption band up to 650 nm. Quantum chemical calculations of the electronic structure have shown that the complex PNA3-PD2 is a straight-band semiconductor with a band gap of 2.11 eV. 相似文献
